In the CAV, the PSOE was the second force, while the PNV came in third. In the Foral Community, second place went to PP and third to EH Bildu. In Iparralde, the extreme right of Marine Le Pen has had the upper hand.
EH Bildu, integrated into the Ahora Repúblicas coalition, won the European elections in the Basque Autonomous Community, with 26.4% of the votes (+4.23 points compared to 2019), followed by the PSOE, with 25.92% of votes (+6.95). points). The PNV, integrated into the CEUS coalition, drops to third place with 22.40% of support, after losing 11.52 points.
With these results, EH Bildu will regain his seat in the European Chamber, which will be reoccupied by Pernando Barrena, while Idoia Mendia will debut as a Socialist MEP and the PNV will retain its representative, Oihane Agirregoitia.
The PP, for its part, obtained 11.49% of the votes (+ 5 points), making it the fourth power. It is followed by Sumar, with 3.27%, Podemos with 3.19%, after losing 7.8 points, and Vox with 2.68% (+1.46 points). The electoral group Se Acabó la Fiesta obtained 1.72% of the votes.
The PSOE, first force in Navarre
In Navarre, the PSOE was the party with the most votes, with 74,765 votes, 28.79% of the total, closely followed by the PP, with 72,788, 28.03%.
EH Bildu is the third force, with 48,762 votes, 18.75%, followed by Vox with 17,238 votes (6.63%); Add 10,017 (3.85%), Podemos with 8394 (3.22%) and Geroa Bai with 8230 (3.16%).
Thus, three Navarres will occupy seats in the European Parliament: Elena Sancho, number 19 on the PSOE list; Antonio López Istúriz, number 17 on the PP list; and Pernando Barrena, head of the EH Bildu list and second in the Ahora Repúblicas candidacy.
The extreme right wins in Iparralde
The extreme right has clearly imposed itself in Iparralde. Marine Le Pen’s National Group won elections in Lapurdi, Baja Navarra and Zuberoa, as well as in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department, which unites the three areas.
With 100% of the votes counted, the first force in Lapurdi has been the National Rally, with 23.25% of the votes, and second place goes to Emmanuel Macron’s Renaissance, with 17.31%. The far right has won in the area’s main cities, including Baiona, Donibane Lohizune, Kanbo, Senpere and Urruña.
In Lower Navarra, Le Pen’s party also won, with 21% of the votes. Behind it was the Alianza Rural party, with 17%, and third place went to Renaissance, with 14.19%.
The far right has also triumphed in Zuberoa. The National Group was the first force, with 19%, and the Rural Alliance the second, with 18%.
