The allegations from her private environment have no criminal consequences for Green MEP Lena Schilling. The defamation case was dismissed. But the matter is not over yet.
The focus is on allegations by the Bohrn Mena couple that Schilling falsely claimed that the man had beaten his wife. “No one is above the law and should be allowed to spread such life-threatening lies about others with impunity,” said foundation founder and columnist Sebastian Bohrn Mena. He and his wife Veronika, who works, among other things, as an author, have therefore filed a lawsuit against Schilling.
However, the Vienna Public Prosecutor’s Office concluded that the proceedings had to be stopped “due to a lack of initial suspicion”. It was emphasized that the Minister of Green Justice, Alma Zadić, had stayed out of the case. She didn’t want to be informed about it either.
Court hearing on Friday
But the matter doesn’t end there: the Bohrn Mena couple have also filed a lawsuit for revocation. A hearing will take place next Friday at the court in the city center of Vienna.
Schilling had already signed a cease-and-desist declaration in April after agreeing to a settlement with the Bohrn Menas.
