The Speaker of Parliament, Josep Rull, has been postponed to next Tuesday, August 6the round of consultations with the groups of the Catalan Chamber, an earlier step towards convening the plenary session for the inauguration of the socialist Salvador Illa. The plenary session of the investiture could take place on Thursday.
The consultation round, which was initially scheduled for Monday, has been postponed to Tuesday due to circumstances “agenda issues” of the ERC Parliamentary Groupas Parliament stated in a statement.
Because the round of consultations was postponed for a day, the meeting of the Permanent Deputation that must convene the plenary session of the investiture would likely be moved to Wednesday, so the vote on Illa’s election would be postponed until Thursday.
They blow off the concentrations
For their part, the CDR has called off the concentration they had called for this Monday in Barcelona.
“Faced with the changing circumstances of the times, we are cancelling the meeting tomorrow morning at the Estació de França, but we continue to call on the entire independence movement to meet very soon,” the CDR reported in a note on their account of X.
The ANC has also cancelled its meeting planned for Monday.
