Christian Klar, who has been the director of a new high school in Vienna-Floridsdorf for twelve years, speaks clearly in the krone.tv interview about the current situation in daily school life at home. It is about the unwillingness of students to integrate, violence in daily school life and the increasing Islamism.
Certainly: “We have system breakers in schools. These are children and young people who cannot be integrated. For example, I had a child with autism in the class. She had a Stanley knife in her hand, waved it around and kept shouting: ‘Leave me alone.’
Another problem is the increasing Islamization in schools. Kraft: “It is often about contempt for other religions. And on the other hand about drawing attention to Islam. For example, we distributed the current timetable for this year. There was a child in a class that had lessons until 2 p.m. on Friday. Then she said: I will not go to school for that long on Friday, I will go to the mosque. You can see here that Allah is above the school.” Children and young people base their views on Islamic scriptures and religious teachings.
The willingness to use violence is increasing
From the perspective of the principal, the school shows the society of tomorrow. Kraft: “Our former values can still be saved, but we must now press a clear stop button.” Problem areas include the mass Islamization and the students’ lack of German language skills. Clear: “In practice, German is only the school language. However, the children and young people speak their native language to each other in the park and at home. So they only speak German for five hours a day and the rest of the day in their native language. You even have to think in a language to really master it.”
The mobile phone has become a kind of weapon when it comes to glorifying violence, and the threshold for violence has also been lowered. In general, there is said to be great frustration among teachers. Kraft: “I know many colleagues who say that if I get the chance, I will retire immediately.”
