After the voting cards have been counted, it is more or less clear who will occupy the seats in the National Council in the future. The FPÖ in particular is significantly increasing its quota, while the ÖVP and the Greens have to say goodbye to some politicians. The NEOS club is very stable.
It is not yet entirely clear which 183 MPs will actually be sworn in on October 24. Some are waiving a mandate, including the third President of the National Council Norbert Hofer (FPÖ), who will move to Burgenland, and the future EU Commissioner Magnus Brunner (ÖVP). Others lacked a mandate.
Some still have to wait for the federal list. Rudolf Taschner would be the next successor if Chancellor Karl Nehammer (ÖVP) were represented in a government again. Because Constitutional Minister Karoline Edtstadler and Minister of Women’s Affairs Susanne Raab (both ÖVP) also have a federal mandate, there are still certain opportunities for Johanna Jachs and Alexander Pröll.
Is Rosary coming back?
If he accepts the mandate, Ombudsman Walter Rosenkranz (FPÖ) will return, who is a possible candidate for the position of President of the National Council. The liberal club is growing strongly. Wendelin Mölzer and Ricarda Berger plan to return. For example, the president of the Ring of Liberal Youth, Maximilian Weinzierl, is new to the National Council.
This time, party leader Andreas Babler, from the Federal Council, and the chairmen of the two sub-unions GPA and pro-ge Barbara Teiber and Reinhold Binder are newcomers to the SPÖ. Media spokeswoman Muna Duzdar must still hope for the participation of the red government.
Three ‘new’ members of the Green Party
The only new members of the Green Party are the three government members Werner Kogler, Alma Zadic and Leonore Gewessler, although it is a homecoming for the former. The NEOS club is very stable, although there are some new additions, including media manager Veit Dengler and JUNOS president Sophie Wotschke.
