The richest man in the world is paying a lot to support his favorite presidential candidate: Elon Musk donated about $75 million in just three months to a political organization that supports Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
This is evident from documents published by the American Election Commission on Tuesday. According to the documents, most of the money, about $72 million, flowed to the America PAC between July and September.
Tech billionaire and Tesla boss Musk was the group’s only donor during this period. The organization focuses on the mobilization of voters in battle zones. This means that ‘America PAC’ has spent more money than any other pro-Trump group with the same focus.
Musk used to vote for the Democrats
Musk, who said he had voted for Democratic presidential candidates in the past, took a clear step to the right. He publicly endorsed Trump in July and appeared with him at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania earlier this month.
