Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has presented his previously unpublished ‘victory plan’ for Russia’s war of aggression against his country.
It is about “strengthening our country and our positions,” Zelensky said in a speech to parliamentarians in Kiev on Wednesday. The goal is to ‘be strong enough to end the war’. Meanwhile, Kherson has been cut off from power after months of Russian attacks.
Repair work on the power grid in the southern Ukrainian city was underway, Kherson Governor Oleksandr Prokudin said on Wednesday. According to experts, power supply should be restored within a few hours. Authorities said there were also power outages in parts of the neighboring Mykolaiv region.
136 combat threats hit Ukraine
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia used 136 Iranian-made combat drones against Ukraine during the night. 51 of them were shot down, another 60 were taken out of the air by jammers.
The Russian military has repeatedly targeted energy supply facilities in Ukraine for months. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), two-thirds of Ukraine’s electricity production capacity has been destroyed since the start of Russia’s war of aggression in February 2022.
