The Jeltzale leader already left his seat in the Basque parliament last term. As EITB Media can reveal, he will not run to lead Gipuzkoa’s PNV nor will he sit on the EBB.

The experienced leader of PNV of Gipuzkoa, Joseba Egibarwill no longer lead the jeltzale director he led during these 33 years, according to EITB Media.
There was speculation that the one from Andoain would join the already announced marches of Itxaso Atutxa (BBB) and José Antonio Suso (ABB), thus making way for a complete renewal of managers of the three CAV territories, Unai Hualde and Peio Etxeleku will continue to lead the NBB and the IBB.
The official movement of the PNV has proposed Maria Eugenia Arrizabalaga (Zumaia, 1967) as successor within the internal process that started this Thursday to renew the territorial administrators.
The historic politician did not appear on the PNV lists in the last Basque elections, and therefore the last was his last term in the Basque Parliament, after 34 years.
Egibar is currently a member of the PNV national executive body (EBB), although he will not renew his position either as he will not appear in the trial, scheduled for January 2025.
