krone.tv asks – No order? “Kickl has to blame himself”

Date:

Federal President Alexander van der Bellen has broken this habit. He gave the task of forming a government to Karl Nehammer and not to Herbert Kickl and the FPÖ as the party with the largest number of votes. What do the Viennese think of this decision? krone.tv asked.

“I am not a friend of the FPÖ,” 49-year-old Kaveh A. makes clear. Still, he would have thought it better if Herbert Kickl had been given the task of forming a government. “It’s a tradition and we should have kept it that way.” From his point of view, this would have led to an organic result. He therefore understands the disappointment and frustration of the FPÖ voters.

The decision of the Federal President is also welcomed by some. “I like it. New situations require new ways and means,” says Jürgen P. Van der Bellen’s actions are “sensible and reflective.”

36-year-old Natalie S. can also live with the assignment given to Nehammer: “It’s okay for me, but I can well imagine that that’s not the case for everyone.” She also points out that you have to look at “which parties can work best together and what is best for the general public.”

71-year-old Ms Dupont criticizes the FPÖ leader. ‘He can’t find anyone to go with him. Then he has to think about the why.” She also draws lessons from her own professional life: “When you hit a wall, blame yourself first.”

Student Felix P thinks that Kickl will also use the current situation to his advantage. The FPÖ chairman could say that “everyone has now turned against him”. In this way he may be able to ‘re-engage’ his voters.

Without naming parties, Veronika N. expresses a wish: “a coalition where there is no standstill.” There must be more consensus than during the previous government.

But: “That is difficult in the current situation.”
