The Israeli Air Force says it has attacked Islamic terrorists in a humanitarian protection zone in the Gaza Strip. Members of Hamas and Islamic Jihad were attacked during “terrorist activities” in the town of Khan Younis in the south of the closed coastal strip, the Israeli army said.
Numerous measures had previously been taken to reduce the danger to civilians, the army said in Telegram on Wednesday evening.
Military: Systematic abuse of civilian infrastructure
The military has not provided information about possible casualties. The military spoke of another example of systematic abuse of civilian infrastructure and humanitarian protection zones by Hamas in violation of international law.
Terrorists killed in northern Gaza Strip
The Israeli army also continued operations in the north of the Gaza Strip. Dozens of terrorists were “eliminated” the day before in airstrikes and hand-to-hand fighting in the Jabaliya area, the report said.
100 positions in Lebanon attacked
According to its own statements, the air force also attacked more than a hundred positions of the pro-Iranian Hezbollah militia in Lebanon. Dozens of “Hezbollah terrorists” were “eliminated” on Tuesday, the army said. At the same time, ground forces continued their “limited and targeted” attacks on the militia in southern Lebanon, the report said.
Large quantities of weapons were discovered, tunnel shafts were blown up and rockets deployed in civilian areas targeting Israeli communities were destroyed, the report said. The military’s information could not be independently verified. According to Lebanese information, numerous civilians are repeatedly killed in Israel’s attacks.
