Hans Peter Doskozil announced on social media on Tuesday that he had undergone further throat treatment in Germany. The procedure went without complications. He should be back in Burgenland by the end of this week.
“It looks like I will be back in Burgenland at the end of this week,” he reassured on social media. The operation was a “routine check” because an ossification in the larynx had become increasingly larger. That is why Doskozil had a “preventive correction” carried out.
No public appointments
He will remain in “close contact” with his government team during the recovery phase. He wants to continue his work at the “usual pace”. However, public appointments are canceled until further notice until recovery is complete.
In the case of the governor, it is a rare, harmless hardening of the cartilage structure. He emphasized on social media: “For me, as has been emphasized several times, this has all become routine.”
Several operations already
This is the governor’s eighth surgery. Already in 2022, Doskozil was being treated by specialized doctors in Germany due to his larynx surgery. In mid-November 2023, the SPÖ state leader had to go to the University Hospital in Leipzig again. The last was to be carried out in March 2024.
“I have always been open about my illness. “That is why I have now made it public in the state parliament that I will again undergo a safe correction operation on the larynx,” Doskozil said in the meeting room.
