It has also urged the Spanish Government to establish a reform of the asylum system to guarantee the right to international protection of all migrants in transit.

Similarly, Parliament has asked the European authorities, in particular the French and Spanish authorities: measures to prevent further tragedies in the Bidasoa River and its environs and that they shared mechanisms who avoid any form of discriminatory treatment based on race, color, origin or identity.

In addition, he has asked the EU to safe humanitarian corridors and the Basque government to continue to guarantee a adequate reception and care for migrants in transit and lead the institutional coordination to facilitate access to the registry, health card, social services or education.
