On Tuesday, Hans Peter Doskozil (SPÖ) announced on social media that he had undergone further larynx treatment in Germany (we reported). Now he is back in Burgenland.
“It’s always nice to go back to Burgenland,” the state’s governor says enthusiastically on social networks. What makes him especially happy is that he can leave for his hometown with his wife Julia just before the national holiday.
The state holiday is celebrated on November 11, in honor of the unique history of the youngest Burgenland.
Considering the circumstances, he is doing very well after the procedure: “The healing process is going according to plan and without complications,” he writes. So he can work internally again and will return to the office soon. He is in “close contact” with his team.
Dealing openly with the disease
“I have always been open about my illness. “That is why I have now made it public in the state parliament that I will again undergo a safe correction operation on the larynx,” the state governor had explained in advance.
Already in 2022, Doskozil was being treated by specialized doctors in Germany due to his larynx surgery. In mid-November 2023, the SPÖ state leader had to go to the University Hospital in Leipzig again. Another procedure had to be carried out in March 2024.
