Residential complex hit: three children dead after Russian missile attack

Date:

After a Russian missile attack, three dead children were recovered from the rubble of a residential building in the Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih. The youngest is less than a year old, said the military governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region, Serhiy Lyssak.

“In total, the Russians killed four people in yesterday’s attack,” he said. The fourth victim is said to be the children’s mother. In addition, 14 people were injured.

Zelenskyy calls for more weapons
Russia repeatedly bombs civilian targets in neighboring Ukraine. After yesterday’s attack on his hometown, President Volodymyr Zelensky called for more weapons from the West to defend against such attacks. “Russia seeks only a continuation of the war, and any attack refutes Russia’s statements about diplomacy,” he wrote on Telegram.

50,000 Ukrainian soldiers are deployed in Kursk
However, Ukraine reported that 50,000 of its own soldiers had been deployed to the frontline area on Russian territory near Kursk. “There our men are holding back a fairly large group of Russian troops – 50,000 members of the occupying army,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote on Telegram. These could not be used on other Russian front positions on Ukrainian territory.

North Koreans are fighting on the front lines
The information could not initially be independently verified. Two and a half years after the start of Russia’s war of aggression, Ukraine launched its surprise offensive on Kursk in August. Although Russia has since been able to retake some settlements, the front line has changed little recently. According to US media reports, Russia has amassed tens of thousands of troops, including recently arrived troops from North Korea. A counter-offensive should be launched with them near Kursk in the coming days.

Attacks on weapons depots weaken Russia
The attacks on Russian weapons depots have reduced the occupying forces’ artillery supplies, and this is noticeable at the front, Zelenskyj continued. He once again called on the key supporting states of the US, Great Britain and Germany to allow the use of the long-range weapons they supply against targets deep in Russian territory. “This is essential. The further our missiles and drones can hit, the less real combat capability Russia will have.”

Fire in Russian fuel depot
Meanwhile, according to Russian information, a fire broke out at a fuel depot in the southern Russian region of Belgorod following a Ukrainian drone attack. Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control, the region’s governor, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said via the short-messaging service Telegram. In the Starkooskolsky district near the Ukrainian border, one of the camp’s tanks caught fire. Initially, nothing was known about the extent of the damage or possible injuries.
