How are things politically in Tyrol after the state elections in the fall? According to a current IMAD survey, the People’s Party will probably need two partners – or it will go into opposition. Both variants would be historic!
19 mandates are needed for a majority in the Tyrolean state parliament, which will be difficult if not impossible with the Greens. Especially since the atmosphere between the two coalition partners seems to be quite tense – keywords: wolf, hydropower, tourism.
“A two-party government seems hardly possible at the moment, which means that a third force is needed for a stable government,” political scientist Christian Traweger is convinced.
18 percent prefer black and red
The coalition wishes of the Tyroleans were also asked. The ranking leads ÖVP-SPÖ with 18 percent. They are followed by the ÖVP-Greens and the ÖVP-FPÖ, each with 15 percent. SPÖ-Greens want 10 percent, SPÖ-Greens-NEOS eight percent and ÖVP-NEOS six percent. “23 percent don’t want any of these coalitions at all,” notes Prof. Traweger.
