Unless there is a surprise, they will all be rejected. On Thursday it will be the turn of the partial amendments, for which negotiations are still ongoing between EH Bildu and the parties that make up the Basque government (PNV and PSE-EE).
The Basque Chamber is debating 9:30 am the changes in the whole presented to the 2025 budget project of the Basque government. He PP and the parties integrated in the Mixed Group, Sumar and Voxthey amended the executive accounts in their entirety.
It is predictable that the three amendments will be rejected and the budgetary process will move to the next stage, with the debate on partial changes scheduled for Thursday.
In that sense, EH Bildu and the groups that make up the Basque government (Yeltzales and Socialists) continue with the negotiations, and given what has been seen, they will rush to the last moment. In this context, it is worth recalling the agreement reached last Monday by the Abertzale coalition and the regional government to approve Álava’s budgets.
Last Thursday, the executive branch submitted a new proposal to the sovereigntist coalition. Both sides have admitted that their positions are far apart on issues such as housing or the Minimum Interprofessional Wage (SMI).
The spokesperson of EH Bildu, Otxandiano hairassured yesterday that his party advocates an ‘interventionist’ housing policy with ‘an absolute paradigm shift’ and confirmed that a budget agreement between the Basque government and EH Bildu would facilitate the possibility of an ‘own’ SMI in 2025.
For his part, the Lehendakari Imanol Pradales He was committed to the sustainability of the Basque public system in the medium and long term, but rejected the ‘extreme interventionism’ that some claim. In this sense, he recalled that “resources are finite. There is not enough for everything. We must prioritize and choose very well in which baskets to put the eggs for our current and future well-being.”
The plenary session of the Basque parliament last Tuesday forced the usual transfer government council on Wednesday.
For its part, the Parliament of Navarre debate this Tuesday the partial amendments submitted to the Budget Project of the Regional Executive, as well as the draft tax measures. The plenary session starts at 9:30 am in the Foral Parliament.
