As agreed, the regional government will allocate 33 million euros to promote public transport (15 million), the health care system (10), the first sector (5) or housing (2). In this way, Bizkaia joins Gipuzkoa and Álava in gaining broader support for the implementation of the 2025 bills.
He provincial government of Bizkaiaformed by PNV and PSE-EE, has a budget agreement of EH Bildu to implement the 2025 bills, as reported by the sovereigntist coalition and the regional institution in separate notes. EH Bildu se will abstain when voting on budgets.
As agreed, the regional board will donate a total of € 33 million euros to implement 29 actions in five major areas over the next three years. In concrete terms, almost half of the game (15 million) will be dedicated to it public transportand a third (10 million) to promote the community system of concern. The remaining eight million will be distributed as follows: five million for the promotion of first sector and balanced territorial development, tailored to the energy transition; two million for housing and youth empowermentand a million euros for it industrial heritage.
This package of 29 measures will be included in the 2025 budget project through the processing of partial changes or through the appropriate budget amendments in the accounts of the coming years.
Both parties are satisfied with the agreement
The regional institution has expressed its “satisfaction” with this agreement, as it believes that “it broadens the consensus on the policies and actions that Bizkaia society needs.”
Likewise, EH Bildu also appreciates the agreement and believes that the various initiatives agreed upon are ‘a response to the main problems of citizens’.
The regional director of Bizkaia did that absolute majority in the General Assemblies, which ensured the approval of the budgets. However, this agreement makes broader support possible (46 of the 51 seats in the Chamber).
Bizkaia joins in this way Gipuzkoa and Álava in getting the 2025 budgets back on track. In Gipuzkoa the bills will come out with the support of the PP, while in Alava they will do so with the votes of EH Bildu.
