He Basque Parliament will fully approve the draft budget of the European Union this Friday, December 20 Basque government by 2025, once its parliamentary processing is completed. Today’s session will be broadcast live on eitb.eus, starting at 9:30 am.

Barring any surprises, the bills are approved at the absolute majority of the PNV and PSE-EE, partners of the executive power, after EH Bildu did not accept the latest proposal from the Minister of Finance and Finance, Noël d’Anjou, last Thursday. However, although government sources have concluded negotiations with the coalition, the latter stated this week that there is room for acceptance of some of its amendments until the last minute, so it remains to be seen what position it will take in the vote.

After the approval of the project by the Government Council and its presentation in the Gasteiz Chamber, the Minister of Finance and Finance started budget negotiations with the parliamentary groups on November 7. Sumar, PP and Vox – the far-right party was excluded from the talks – presented changes in the wholewhile EH Bildu decided to continue negotiations with contributions for a proactive public policy of shelter and a political agreement for a Own SMI.

In an interview in Euskadi Irratia on December 12, it was Security Council member Bingen Zupiria who announced that EH Bildu had rejected the government’s latest budget proposal and that negotiations had therefore been concluded.

Next year the Basque government will have a budget of € 15,728 million eurosthat is 700 million more than in 2024 and an increase of almost 4.5%. The Ministry of Health is the ministry that is growing the most in absolute figures (215 million), although in relative terms it is increasing less than the budget as a whole, namely 4.4%.
