FPÖ leader Herbert Kickl, who now has to form a new government, has repeatedly caused a stir in the past with striking statements. Many people remember that he described Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen as a ‘mummy in the Hofburg’. The “Krone” has an overview.
Kickl also had unflattering words for outgoing Chancellor Karl Nehammer (ÖVP). He is ‘the greatest plague in the land’. The Green club boss Sigrid Maurer is even a “dominatrix” and ÖVP colleague August Wöginger “gets pleasure from submission”. In general, the Greens are “the extended arm of the eco-fundamentalists and the climate terrorists on the government bench”. Apparently, according to Kickl, they also work with the ORF. It is “the propaganda organ of the eco-communist climate sect”.
The right-wing extremist Identitarians, who are a ‘real NGO’, are doing better ‘because they don’t get any money from the state’. These are monitored by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution.

Kickl also repeatedly demonstrated a conservative set of values. “Children have the right to a mother and father and must be protected from the social experiments of the SPÖ and other left-wing groups,” he said. By ‘experiments’ he meant, for example, rainbow families. The FPÖ leader also said that women are the ones who have the support of their husbands at home.
There was no rainbow flag on a government building below him. “I’ll put up the pirate flag first.” Kickl also wants to establish what human rights are. The laws do not have to determine that. “Because I still believe in the principle that law should follow politics and not that politics should follow law,” he explained.
Other views include that the EU is undermining Austria’s neutrality and sovereignty, that Austria needs an immediate asylum ban and that there should be no sanctions against Russia. “A liberal chancellor would never have supported this economic war.”
