Humanitarian aid – US government no longer provides medication

Date:

The new US government has hired the delivery of medication against HIV, malaria and tuberculosis. Medical aid supplies for newborns are no longer sent to Global South.

The step is part of an extensive freezing of the American tools and is intended to officially serve to check the projects. An instruction to hire deliveries went to Chemonics, a large consultancy firm on Tuesday. Medicines for HIV, malaria and tuberculosis, as well as contraceptives and medication for mothers and children are affected.

“This is catastrophic,” said Atul Gawande, former head of the Global Health Department of the Development Assertial Bureau USAID. Donated medication kept 20 million people with HIV alive. He warned that patients would now develop and spread the virus. Organizations that work in 23 countries with 6.5 million orphans and endangered children with HIV are also affected.

“Only” 90 days of break?
Trump spoke about a 90 -minute break for foreign development aid. During this time their efficiency and agreement with American policy must be checked. About 60 High -Ranking USAID employees were on leave. The United States has recently been the largest clash of humanitarian aid worldwide – with 42 percent of the total funds that the United Nations have caught.
