EH Bildu is determined to “take a leap in the liberation process” with the Lizarra Pact as a reference

Date:

EH Bai and EH Bildu met today in Hiriburu to discuss the challenges facing the pro-independence left in the coming years and agreed to present new initiatives.

EH Bildu has chosen to “take a leap in the liberation process of Euskal Herria”, for which she considers it necessary to put “national recognition and respect for the right to decide as a people” back on the table with the Lizarra pact. as a reference.

The EH Bai and EH Bildu directorates held a meeting in Hiriburu town in Lapurtarra this Saturday to kick off the new political year. During the meeting, leaders of both parties analyzed “the opportunities and risks facing Euskal Herria.”

The general coordinators of EH Bai and EH Bildu respectively, Nikolas Blain and Arnaldo Otegi, have intervened to “announce the commitment of the left independence movement to jointly respond to the challenges of Euskal Herria“.

During the meeting, both groups warned that they constitute a transformative political project “with the aim of achieving the national and social independence of Euskal Herria.”

Thus, they have defended the need to create a joint dynamic, “aimed at promoting common spaces of unity in the face of the challenges we face.” “Because they are Euskal Herria and the Basque citizens, their well-being and their needs, from the Aturri to the Ebrothe protagonists of our political initiative,” they explained.

According to him, the well-being of Basque citizens is “closely linked to the Basque national transformation, and the general chaos experienced worldwide requires the creation of strong pillars.”

“The sovereign left’s offer is based on safety and security. We have the conviction to stay alive as a people, and a strong political project, which is fueled by more and more people. That is what the results we have achieved show. both political forces in the election cycles of Ipar Euskal Herria and Hego Euskal Herria,” they stated.

After reviewing that more and more citizens trust on the sovereign lefthave attributed this to a “clear sign that Euskal Herria is immersed in a new political cycle.”

“Euskal Herria faces major challenges. The various crises caused by global changes directly affect our people. According to the key indicators of equality, well-being and development, our community metabolism is at risk, and that places us at a historic crossroads,” they have warned.

Despite all this, they have chosen to “take a political leap” and “promote the national project“. “Take a leap in the liberation process of Euskal Herria: a leap in the various aspects related to the creation of our people, in the territorial articulation and in the development and implementation of public policies designed by and for Euskal Herria. Policies that must be able to respond to contemporary social and environmental challenges, based on our community and territorial capacities,” they added, deeming it necessary to “restore the political sovereignty necessary to make that leap to make.”

In this way, they have maintained that it is time to “promote and put back on the table the issue of sovereignty that lies in the political conflict: national recognition and respect for our right to decide as a people.” “A leap towards national recognition and the materialization of the rights that flow from it,” she added.

In this sense, they have “the importance of the Pact of Lizarra Garazi as a milestone of a new nationalist impulse” and recalled that next September 12 will mark 25 years of an initiative that “is recorded in capital letters in the history of this city, given that it represented a great leap in terms of the recognition of the rights of this people and towards the right to decide.

“As we have done in recent months, we will continue to work to deepen relations between EH Bai and EH Bildu, with the aim of generating joint political momentum. To strengthen the Basque nation and so that Euskal Herria has all possible doors wide open when it comes to deciding their own fate in this new political cycle,” they concluded.

The Lizarra-Garazi Pact was signed September 12, 1998, only 25 years ago, by numerous political parties (PNV, EA, HB…), trade unions (LAB, ELA, ESK…) and popular movements, and was endorsed on October 2 in Donibane Garazi. Based on the Northern Ireland model, the aim was to end the Basque conflict and to achieve that it demanded dialogue and political negotiations without exclusions.
