The search for a government for Austria continues. After nobody wanted to do with Kickl, a triangle failed, FPö and ÖVP are now struggling after a joint solution. With today, the formation of the government has already reached a record length.
Since Wednesday, 129 days have passed since Wednesday – only once in the history of the Second Republic lasted just as long for a government.
Delay is not only due to blue -black
The length is mainly due to the failure of negotiations for a black-red-pink triple coalition. After no other party was prepared to enter a government with FPö boss Herbert Kickl immediately after the elections, the trio of the weaker weaker parties tried to find a compromise solution.
96 days after the elections, on January 3, the Neos came from the negotiations, and the next day ex-Oövp boss and Chancellor Karl Nehammer also broke the negotiations between the ÖVP and Spö.
The election winner FPö and the ÖVP try to officially play it together for almost a month and therefore for almost a month-when the end was successful, it would be the first blue-black coalition.
Rumors about demolition, but there is still a willingness to talk
But unexpectedly for political observers there are unexpected gribs despite a variety of competitions in the party programs. Since the weekend, the party leader Herbert Kickl and Christian Stocker have met several times, but apparently not even talking about the great obstacles such as EU, Ukraine and Banking.
It was not until Tuesday evening that rumors about a general termination of negotiations – such dignity will probably lead to new elections. Apparently there is currently also a problem with a dispute about ministerial positions. The ÖVP claims all important ministries, according to the FPö. On Wednesday it will probably continue with particularly heated conversations.
Blue-Black threatens the only negative record
So whether you still get an agreement remains open. However, if this no longer succeeds on Wednesday, the first edition of Blau-Scharz starts with a new negative record-out that a government formation has certainly never lasted any longer.
