Migration shift – Scholz: common decisions possible before choice

Date:

The dispute about a tightening of the German migration policy continues. Now the German SPD -Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz will soon make up for the prospect.

“My hand is stretched for common solutions,” Scholz told the “Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger” (Thursday edition). He accused the trade union (CDU/CSU) of blocking corresponding laws.

Templates for the implementation of the European Asylum System (GEAS), extensive powers of the security authorities and a reform of the Federal Police Act were “ready for a decision in the Bundesstag,” said Scholz. According to him, they could be decided before the elections of the Bundestag in the following week of the session. It is clear: “Every agreement must be legally viable and decided of the Democratic Center”.

Scholz is considering the reliability of Merz
“In the case” Brak Merz and the Union “a consensus that has always been worn in German post -war democracy: no cooperation with extreme rights.” Not held, “said the Chancellor. “And of course many citizens now ask themselves: can you still trust him?”

Scholz has also made it clear about the form of the protests that there should be no violence against politicians and election staff in the election campaign. “Threatening gestures for an information copy or against party members who hang up posters and distribute leaflets are attacks on democracy that no one can simply reject.”

Merz sees himself in the right way
Chancellor Merz wants to conquer migration policy despite the protests against the CDU in the course of his party. “I take it seriously,” Merz described the newspapers of the Funke Media Group (Thursday editions) with a view to demonstrations against the joint coordination of the Union with the AfD on tightening the migration policy. “But if the last remaining People’s Party, we don’t let protesters put ourselves off our course.”

Merz also does not want to be deterred by falling survey values. “We stay calm, stay for every voice in our topics and fight,” said the CDU boss with reference to the last Fortsa survey on Tuesday, according to which the CDU is 28 percent ahead, but has lost two percentage points. Other survey institutes, on the other hand, see the CDU “stable at 30 percent and higher,” said Merz.

CDU/CSU no longer wants to trust the disposal
With regard to a possible collaboration with the AfD, Merz was again assured that this would not happen. “I exclude every coalition, every tolerance, every form of collaboration with the AfD,” said the CDU politician. This promise applies in the long term. The trade union does not work with a party that wants to come from NATO, from the euro and from the EU. There is “a clear decision”. But he is “personal”.

Merz believes that the Union in the Federal Stay could again rely on voices from the AfD. “The current situation in the Bundestag was only founded by the fact that the government no longer has a majority in parliament,” he said. “As a CDU/CSU we have made our own request,” he said. The issue of random majorities will no longer stand up after the elections. “Then there is – hopefully – another majority of the government.”
