The state elections in Liechtenstein led to a historical result on Sunday. Because for the first time in the history of principality, Brigitte Haas becomes a female head of the government.
Her party, the Fatherland Union (VU), received the most votes in the state parliament by 38.3 percent. The strongest party can therefore traditionally the boss and two other members of the state government present.
The politically known lawyer of the VU was already ahead of the violent election campaign. This is mainly because her challenger of the Advanced Citizens’ Party (FBP), the former Foreign Minister of Liechtenstein Ernst Walch, was accused of controversial machinations in confidence.
Change will finally be sealed on March 20
The last elections of Haas will seal the newly elected State Parliament during the first meeting on March 20. Haas succeeds Daniel Risch van de VU, who had worked as a bench before his four -year period.
