In exchange, Ukraine requires security guarantees from the Western allies. In this context, the plant is a picture of NATO. But from the perspective of the US government under President Donald Trump, this is “not a realistic result”. The US Minister of Defense also rejected another request from the Ukrainian government on Wednesday.
A return to the boundaries of Ukraine before 2014 for the annexation of the Crimea Peninsula by Russia-Is-Is-Is “unrealistic,” said Pete Hegseeth before he met the Ukrainian contact group in Brussels. The American Minister of Defense made it clear that the Russian attack war against Ukraine had to end. President Trump is planning to create this with diplomatic resources.
Washington is partly waved in the line of the Kremlin. Because Moscow also rejects the exchanged areas recently proposed by the Ukrainian President Wolodyymyr Senskyj. The head of state brought the parts of the Kursk region, controlled by Ukrainian troops. “Russia has never discussed an exchange of its territory and will not do this,” said Kremlin spokesperson Dmitri Peskow.
No American soldiers in Ukraine
The US government wants sovereign Ukraine. The country needs security guarantees, mainly due to the presence of European troops after the end of the war. Hegseeth emphasized that the US would not send soldiers to Ukraine.
With a view to the military alliance, Hegseeth said on the short news platform X: “NATO should be a stronger, more fatal power – not a diplomatic club.” He published a photo of his arrival in the Brussels headquarters. NATO sees itself as a purely “defensive alliance”. The new Pentagon boss is a visit to Brussels.
Currently no plans for American deduction from Europe
Hegseeth visited American military basic points in Germany on Tuesday. Europe has to contribute the most to defending the neighborhood, he said with a view to Ukraine. The Minister of Trump played fear of a deduction of the approximately 100,000 American troops from Europe. “There are currently no plans in preparation to shorten anything,” he emphasized.
