The temporary President Ahmed Al-Sharaa of Syria drives the renovation of his country ahead after the fall of long-term power holder Bahsar al-Assad. A new government was appointed on Saturday. The former rebel leader and Islamist Sharaa have put a Christian at the top of the Ministry of Social Affairs with Hind Kabawat.
The Syrian-Canadian double citizen was already involved in Geneva’s peace talks in 2017 and 2017. Ultimately, the elaboration of a new constitution, the maintenance of new elections and an agreement from the warring parties could not be reached. Now, after the fall of the Assad regime, Sharaa wants to do this reconciliation and unification process and is a moderate Islamist who apparently wants to form an inclusive government.
The new government wants to rebuild the state institutions on the basis of “responsibility and transparency,” said the temporary president. Central members of the previous transitional government keep track of their functions. Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shibani and Minister of Defense Murhaf Abu Qasra, for example, must remain in office. The head of the intelligence officer Anas Khattab, who is also a confidant of the transition president, will say that the information will be new in the Minister of the Interior.
Woman also at the head of the central bank
A rebel alliance led by Islamist Hayat Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS) took control of the Syrian capital Damascus on December 8. The over -repelled long -term ruler Assad fled with his family to Russia. The Islamists dissolved the old parliament and the former Baath government party and have overwritten the 2012 Constitution. Sharaa was appointed transitional chairman at the end of January. Another important position of the Land of the Civil War is also occupied by a woman. Last year Maysaa Sabrine was appointed director of the Central Bank.
