A day after his arrival in Moscow, the Bosnian Serbian leader Milorad Dodik, sought by international arrest warrant, was already received by Russian President Vladimir Putin in Kremlin. The Kremlin published a video on Tuesday how the two shake their hands and then sit at a table. “I am very happy to see her in Moscow,” Putin said in the recording.
Dodik had announced his arrival in Moscow on Monday. He published a video of himself for the grave of the unknown soldier in the Russian capital in Online Service X (see below). In the approximately two minutes of access, Dodik praised the Russian president as the “historical leader (…) of the Russian Volks”.
Dodik promises: “will return”
Soon rumors circulated in the media that Dodik could look for Russian citizenship and seek refuge in the Bosnian judiciary in Russia. The Dodik, known for his separatist course and rhetoric, was sentenced on 26 February to a year in prison for violating decisions of the International Bosnia representative Christian Schmidt. He is not allowed to hold public office for six years. However, the judgment is not yet final. The Bosnian constitutional court spent an international arrest warrant against the 66-year-old last week.
On Tuesday, Dodik assured that he would return to his house during the weekend and participate in a meeting of the leadership of the Republika SRPSKA in Banja Luka. “Nobody prevents him,” said the politician, who had previously participated in a conference in Israel.
