Mike Waltz apparently has already done it again: when the security adviser of Donald Trump, the Republican, surprisingly often, ensures serious security gaps. Now it came out that Waltz not only traded carefree with the so -called signal scandal.
In some cases, the National Security Advisor of US President Trump, Mike Waltz, would have used the widespread Google Service Gmail instead of encrypted e -mails. The “Washington Post” reports.
The newspaper pointed out that Gmail was much more uncertain for government information than the encrypted Messenger app signal, about which leading government members had discussed an attack on the Huthi militia in Yemen. The “Spiegel” recently found the telephone number, e -mail details and partial passwords of the best US security team that is freely accessible on the internet on the internet. Among them were Waltz’s data.
A high-ranking employee of the NSC of the National Security Council therefore used the commercial e-mail service for agreements with colleagues in other government agencies related to military positions and powerful weapon systems related to a constant conflict, as the newspaper reported.
Waltz himself sent less secret information about his private Gmail -user account, but still not harmless, such as the schedule or work documents, the newspaper reported. The NSC spokesperson told the Washington Post that he had no evidence that Waltz had used his personal e -mail for such purposes.
The newspaper refers to public sources in the department and reports that it has some e -mails. Waltz had admitted that he was accidentally invited a journalist for the secret signal group for the Yemen attack. The journalist, “Atlantic” editor Jeffrey Goldberg, then made the chats public.
Waltz then desperately tried to explain why he had saved the reporter on his mobile phone. Goldberg is particularly unpopular with his boss Trump. At Fox News, the security adviser made a glorious appearance – and suggested that the contact in his mobile phone was “sucked”. But he left it open.
As a reminder: while the term of Hillary Clinton as Foreign Minister also landed news with sometimes sensitive content in their private e -mail boxes. To do this, she wanted to lock Trump (“lock her up!”). So far there are no consequences for his men.
Trump had been publicly behind the members of the chat group several times, but the “New York Times” had reported that he was not as firm as his security adviser as he publicly claimed. “Do I have to fire him?” It is said that he has asked his consultants.
