The family of Syrians who fled to Austria has practically come to a halt. As the Spö MP Christian Oxonitsch shows, only 14 submissions were approved in January.
There were 400 in September. The reason is that since the power change in Damascus, Syrian applications have only been treated in exceptional cases. A good 3,600 Syrians are waiting for a decision.
In principle, the reunification of the family works in such a way that close relatives can submit an application to Austria to Austrian representative authorities, where the application can then be formally inserted. As a rule, those who have been granted by arrival can actually remain permanent in Austria.
Syrian longest refugee group
Syrians have by far the largest refugee group. Accordingly, there were most of the applications for family reunification of Syrians. For example, 444 access grabbing were granted last September, of which 400 went to Syrians.
In January, only 91 people were allowed to travel to Austria to submit an application for family reunification. This decline is mainly due to the fact that the number of approved Syrians is clamped up to 14. Because their procedures will only be continued for the time being if there are compulsory humanitarian circumstances. The strongest nation are now Afghans with 31 approvals.
