Minister of Protection of former climate Leonore Gewessler applies the successor to Werner Kogler as party leader of De Groenen. June 29 must be voted. In the meantime, various green top politicians have responded to their project.
Kogler stood behind Gewessler shortly after the publication of the candidacy video. “You have my support,” he posted with a green emoji -heart: “Thanks for taking this step and thank you for getting our greens to the next level.”
Kogler “whole, very happy”
He was “very, very happy” about her candidacy. Both no challenge, no matter how big and fighting for a better world: “I bend – before your determination, your clarity and your competence.”
Kogler had repeatedly mentioned Gewessler as one of the three favorites for his successor, in addition to former judicial minister Alma Zadić and the Upper Austrian spokesperson Stefan Keder.
Zadić also supports Gewessler
However, Van Zadić and Kander came a de facto candidacy distance after the message from Gewessler. She was happy with the brave step of Gewessler, placed Zadić via social media and emphasized: “You have my support – every step off the road!”
Keder’s speech was similar. He emphasized in writing that Gewessler “was exactly the right woman for this position”. He wants to concentrate on the state elections in Upper Austria in 2027, but will also run again for the Green Federal Executive Board.
Other greens, such as Secretary General Olga Voglauer, who was “insane”, and club boss Sigrid Maurer, who were “insane”, who were “crazy”, were also unanimously behind the weight. The candidate -candidate of Green Vienna Judith Pühringer spoke about good news for all people in Austria.
“Green Party on the side of people”
In her short statement, which had already been announced the previous day, Gewishler promised “a green party on the side of the people”. She wants to fight for a better world, and the shared saving of the world is also the care of the Greens.
“Our children should inherit an intact planet,” she said, and called to courage, even as the Ukraine war, right-wing extremist in the upward, the economy in the downward trend, environmental disasters and “Trump, Musk, Kickl” the feeling that everything was about the power. The greens also made mistakes and lost elections. “I take it seriously – and I want to do better,” said Gewessler.
Application Deadline until 4 May
The new greens boss is Freestyle on June 29 at a federal congress in Vienna. The deadline of the application starts eight weeks before the federal congress, ie May 4, and ends four weeks earlier on 1 June. Opposing candidates are not excluded, but prominent challengers would be a surprise in view of the now unanimity.
