Despite wars, inflation and psychological stress, the young adults in Austria were known as surprisingly positive in the Ö3 youth study. It is also amazing that the boys themselves are for the introduction of a minimum age for the use of social media. The greens have now made a claim based on that.
Or women -looking content, conspiracy theories, right -wing extremist propaganda or brutal images of wars. Content like this is now ubiquitous on social media channels. This proved clear from the results of the Ö3 Youth Study. And that now moves the greens to change the “rules of the game”.
Even boy himself for “sharpening”
“In the analog world we have established clear rules to protect young people- for example with an age restriction for the consumption of alcohol and tobacco. As we think, because we think young people are not on the road at night, we should not expose them to the dangers of the internet,” says Barbara Neßler, children and youth games for the wans.
The “clear question” of the Greens is therefore the introduction of a binding minimum age of 16 years for the use of social media. According to the Ö3 Youth Study, the 16 to 25-year-olds are also for the introduction of a minimum age. About 85 percent declare that social media should only be possible from the age of 16 because this is “really risky” for younger people.
“Digital bullying has long achieved a new, terrifying dimension. Although adults can better classify this content, young people in the digital world are often helpless and overwhelmed. But the protection of our children does not end in the real world – it must also apply to the internet,” says Neßler, the multi -gelayed problem with the use of social media.
