The Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Senskyj agreed on Saturday evening with a bilateral cease -the fire in Ukraine. Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin had announced that attacks and fights against Ukraine stop for 30 hours.
Putin called on the Ukrainian armed forces to put down the weapons during this period. Initially, however, it did not sound like the Ukrainian president Wolodyymyr Senskyj of an “Easter” ceases -the -Fires from Saturday afternoon (5 pm CEST) until Sunday evening (11 pm CEST).
“As a new attempt to play with human life in terms of Putin’s attempt, the air alarm is heard, especially in many parts of Ukraine. Shahed drones in our heaven uncover Putin’s true attitude towards Easter and lives,” the president wrote on platform X.
EU committee: “Need Clear Deeds”
As reported, many Ukrainian politicians and observers were skeptical. “Russia has turned out to be an aggressor. We must therefore see an actual end of aggression and clear acts for a permanent cease -the fire,” said the EU committee on Saturday. “Russia could end this war at any time if it really wanted. We will continue to support Ukraine for a long, honest and extensive peace,” said spokeswoman Anitta Hipper.
Some voices accuse Putin of wanting to want a breath for the forces or the favor of the Trump government, because US President Donald Trump had previously called for a willingness to compromise on both sides.
