After a violent dispute between Washington and Kiev over De Krim, US President Donald Trump has now indicated that a breakthrough with Kremlin -boss Vladimir Putin had been reached (see video above). The Ukrainian Wolodymyr President Senskyj, on the other hand, covers accusations.
According to Trump, Russia is ready for an agreement, Trump told journalists in the White House. “And I think we have a deal with Russia.”
Senskyj “without cards”
He said to Ukraine, referring to President Wolodyymyr Senskyj: “We have to reach an agreement with Senskyj.” This is more difficult than he first expected. Senskyj is a man “without cards”.
Then Trump also said, “But I think we have an agreement with both.” Details are not yet known, statements from Kiev and Moscow were not immediately available on Thursday evening.
Trump frustration due to heavy negotiations?
Trump’s statement initially seemed to contradict the latest statements of high -ranking US government agents. A few hours earlier, his spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt had said that Trump was frustrated with a view to how slow negotiations will be made. She also said that Senskyj “seems to be moving in the wrong direction”.
Treatment of Crimea
During a Ukrainian meeting in London, diplomats spoke about different obstacles, including the status of Crimea. Ukraine rejected the idea that the Russian annexation of the peninsula could be recognized. Selenskyj published a link on Telegram on Wednesday evening for a statement from the American government from 2018, in which Trump expressed himself during his first term as president against the annexation of the Black Zee peninsula.
Trump said a question about Crimea on Wednesday and explained that he had “no favorites” in the conflict in Ukraine and only wanted the war to stop. He also opened whether he will see the Ukrainian president at the Pope Fair parties in Rome on Saturday.
