The “Air Hundred” was abolished for a week on the motorways around Graz and it can again be driven 130 km/h. Now the Greens are publishing the statement of the Environment Department of the State and feel confirmed that the decision of the state government was “without a technical basis”.
The Greens have been insisting for weeks on the statement of the experts from the state discussions that are published. Now the answer there and the greens are confirmed in their criticism of the abolition of the “Air Hundred on Good Friday.
The Environmental Department confirms the FPö and ÖVP statement that the existing limit values are mainly paid – for nitrogen dioxide (NO2), but this is not the case along the highway sections affected. At least 141 homes (especially east of Graz) near the A9 and the A2 are exposed to high taxes
“Political signal was more important”
If the stricter EU limit values (up to 2030) come into force, the fine dust values are no longer observed. Insofar as there is no contradiction with the state government that this fact has communicated, but interpreted in such a way that the 100 restriction could be removed.
“Apparently it was more important for the FPö to set a political signal than to take responsibility for health protection,” criticized the Green Club chairman Sandra Krautwaschl. “The blue-black state government is going to accept the facts.” Krautwaschl will ask Hannes Amesbauer about this subject in the State of Parliament on Tuesday.
