The hope for a cease -the Fire is alive: On Monday in the morning, the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that a delegation had arrived in Istanbul. In the late morning it was also known from Moscow that MEPs will be on site, led by Kremlin consultant Wladimir Medinsky.
The start of the second negotiating round was planned for noon (CEST) in the Çırağan -Palace. Immediately before the planned interviews, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia had called Sergei Lawrow and his American colleague, Marco Rubio.
The two Foreign Ministers had “exchanged their views for various initiatives with regard to a political regulation of the Ukraine crisis”. It was also about “the plans to resume direct negotiations between Russia and Ukraine”.
Negotiation delegations sent
Both parties announced the placement of preference for the Turkish metropolis on Sunday. The Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Senskyj wrote the function for the meeting goals on a complete and unconditional cease -the Fires, the release of prisoners and the return of kidnapped children.
