The elections of Vienna are defeated and the remaining post -stem cards were also counted on Monday. The fourth placed Neos became almost double digits.
For the NEOs it is only the second double digit result in an important choice in Austria. For the first time, the EU election 2024 (10.14 percent). In the election of Vienna, the Pinks reached exactly 10 percent.
Compared to 2020 (7.5 percent), the NEOs could increase by 2.5 percentage points. With the now 10 percent, the pinks caught up with the ÖVP.
The end result of Vienna:
ÖVP crashed
The People’s Party, on the other hand, suffered a huge slump on Sunday. Of the 20.4 percent of 2020, they lost 10.8 percentage points, which meant the largest turquoise min in the capital and came to only 9.7 percent. The scary match between Neos and ÖVP was finally finally clarified on Monday with the counting of the mail votes.

Spö with a small minus, FPö with record plus
The Spö clearly took the first place in the elections on Sunday – with small losses. The FPö increased en masse from a very low level and fifth place and won second place for the greens, which remained stable.
The turnout was 62.7 percent of the votes to vote and therefore lower than 2020 (65.3).
Spö has all the options for coalition formation
The Spö comes to 43 mandates and could therefore continue the coalition with the previous partner Neos (ten mandates in the future). A collaboration would also be based on the ÖVP, which also comes to ten mandates – or with the greens (with 15 of the 100 seats in the city parliament). There is also a full majority with the FPö (22 seats), but it is not an option for the Spö.
