The Basque government has deactivated phase 1 -needed situation of the civil protection plan and is placed in the alarm phase, which contains continuous monitoring of the situation.
The regional director has reduced the response level at the risk of electric blackout. Euskadi passes from the emergency phase in situation 1 to the Alert phase Within the Civil Protection Plan (Labi), after three days in which the emergency situation has been activated per precautionary measures since 29 April.
During the days on which phase 1 emergency situation was activated, the Labi took over the command in the coordination and intervention of all services, which moved the municipal action plans to the background. That phase is now lagging behind, but the guard is not lowered.
With the new level of warning, the authorities will continue to follow the evolution of the electrical situation and they will be willing to act quickly. Among other things, measures are considered the sending of relevant information to both the services and citizens involved, as well as the repositioning of emergency equipment on strategic points.
In addition, protocols, resources and equipment are assessed as if it is necessary to reactivate the emergency phase. These actions are mainly focused on those scenarios that usually do not often occur, but that are not completely excluded.
