National Court indicts three former ETA leaders for the murder of Miguel Ángel Blanco

Judge Manuel García Castellón has named Josetxo Arizkuren Ruiz, Mkel Albisu Iriarte and Marixol Iparragirre as being investigated.

The National Court has subpoenaed three former ETA leaders, who were part of the executive committee, for their alleged responsibility in the kidnapping and murder of Ermua (Bizkaia) PP councilor Miguel Ángel Blanco in July 1997, aged 25.

In an injunction, Judge Manuel García Castellón, who heads the proceedings initiated over a complaint from the Association for Dignity and Justice, subpoenaed Josetxo Arizkuren Ruiz, canteen Mikel Albisu Iriarte, Mikel Antzaand Marixol Iparragirre, Anbotofor crimes of terrorist kidnapping and terrorist murder.

The judge also finds Iñaki de Gracia Arregi responsible for the events, Inaki de Renteriaalthough in his case the crimes are considered prescribed.

The magistrate takes this decision after receiving the report of the Civil Guard on behalf of the court to determine the members of the executive committee of ETA (ZUBA) and their possible participation in the kidnapping and murder of the alderman.
