Civil Service in Focus – Conservative Requirements Balling Safety for AfD Officaries

Date:

The classification of the AfD by the Duschen Constitutional protection as a “secure right -wing extremist” has caused a debate about the consequences for the party members. The first conservatives are now calling for the exhaustion of the rights of the civil service – and want to continue.

The CDU politicians Marco Wanderwitz and Roderich Kiewetter apparently test how far they can go. They want the resignation of AfD members of the civil servant device to the next interior ministers conference of the German federal states.

“Members of a party as an extremist of law should not be allowed to work in the civil service, nor a weapon permit,” said former parliamentary state secretary in the Ministry of the Interior, Wanderwitz, the Reuters news agency on Saturday. The membership of the AfD is not compatible with the civil service, the CDU member of the Bundestag also emphasized Kiewetter on the “Handelsblatt”.

Party ban also subject
Wanderwitz, who had already initiated a prohibition procedure against the AfD in the past legislative period, but was in line with a procedure to stop the financing of the party. “It would be more logical to go the further way of a party ban,” he said.

When rejecting AFD members of the civil service, one must start with the people who hold political offices and are not only passive members, but also actively contribute to the party that is now classified as a right-wing extremist. “I expect an exit golf from the party because civil servants have to wonder if membership is not in danger,” said Wanderwitz.

German Minister of the Interior advised
The subject of reconciliation of AFD membership and civil service will also have the ministers of the federal and national governments. There is a discussion about three things: possible consequences for AfD members in the civil service, the financing of the state party and a possible AFD prohibition procedure.

According to a media report, the background is that disciplinary procedures or investigations are currently underway against at least 193 police officers of the federal states for suspected right -wing extremist attitudes or conspiracy ideology. However, it is not necessarily about membership of certain parties. The actual number will probably be considerably higher, since North Rhine-Westphalia, Berlin and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania had not delivered clear figures, the Omroep RTL and the magazine “Stern” reported to the domestic ministries of the 16 federal states.

Bavaria’s Minister of the Interior Joachim Herrmann said “Stern” and RTL: “Every matter is too much here. Civil servants must commit themselves to the freedom of the basic law because of their entire behavior in the sense of the basic law and for their preservation.” North Rhine-Westphalia’s Interior Minister Herbert Reul said to the two media: “Extremist views have no place with us. Those who don’t understand that is flying out!”
