Procedure in Gaza – Fisherman indirectly compares Netanyahu with Putin

Date:

The ancient federal President Heinz Fischer not only accuses Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to wage against the radical Islamic terrorist group Hamas, but also against the entire Palestinian population. The 86-year-old calls on the federal government to set a clear position on the procedure for Israel’s procedure in the Gaza Strip.

“Mr. Putin does not have to cross the border to a neighboring country with military violence, and Israel does not have the border (…) to simply go aside and try to force hundreds of thousands of people to flee after between 40,000 and 50,000 people, including many women and children,” emphasizes Alexander van der Bisten in conversation with the APA. Every child “who dies or starving in the Gaza Strip or is damaged in other ways is too much”. Israel is not only about human rights, but also about international law.

“This reinforces anti -semitism”
“I am very serious,” Fischer emphasizes. For actions that, for example, stand under suspicion of war crimes, one must “not be quiet,” the head of state explains in retirement. “And that is why I expect that the Austrian government will follow these things carefully and then take a position,” he says in the direction of the triple coalition of the ÖVP, Spö and Neos. The strongest motive for this is that the actions of Netanyahus “do not reduce anti -Semitism, but is enlarged and strengthened. And a stop must be advanced.”

“What’s going on before our eyes …”
Fischer is careful whether Austria should acknowledge the state of Palestine in the light of the Israeli approach, similar to some EU partners: “Of course I am aware that Austria acts very sensitive and carefully in its relationships with Israel.” At the same time, he emphasizes that as a young person he was enthusiastic about the “groundbreaking performances” in Israel and also worked in a Kibbutz for about a few weeks. He was also “good friends” with the former president and Nobel Prize for Peace Shimon Peres and other politicians, as well as citizens in Israel. “But what is going on before our eyes is not possible,” says Fischer.

The Hamas and other Palestinian hunters caused the Gaza war on October 7, 2023 with their big attack on Israel. More than 1200 people were killed and 251 were dragged into the Gaza Strip as hostages.
