The Hartberg Volunteer Fire Brigade held a CO apartment on Wednesday. A resident had to be taken to the LKH, the entire interior was almost completely destroyed. Why this happened is still unclear.
At 1.30 am the volunteers of the Hartberg Fire Brigade were torn from sleep: an apartment on the first floor of a house with several parties was on fire. When the apartment arrived, the apartment was already in full fire – the resident could finally save himself outside on time.
The firefighters immediately started the internal attack under heavy respiratory protection – with a turntable ladder they gained access to the balcony.
Despite the fast intervention, the apartment has almost completely burned out. Fire stove and the cause are still unclear. The apartment above had to be ventilated – it was heavily smoky.
Wife taken to the hospital
The woman from the brand apartment was brought to LKH Hartberg with suspected flue gas poisoning. 25 firefighters with five vehicles were in use.
