The new Chancellor Friedrich Merz (CDU) from Germany has called with US President Donald Trump. The federal government announced that the two had agreed to “want to arrange the trade conflicts quickly”.
Moreover, a “close cooperation with the aim of terminating the war in Ukraine” was agreed, said the spokesperson for the Stefan Kornelius government at the end of Thursday evening. On Thursday, Merz also called Ukrainian President Wolodyymyr Senskyj and promised him further support in the defense.
