After about 100 days in office, the red -sized state government in Burgenland took stock and presented the political priorities for the coming months. With new companies, the state government wants to make the administration slimmer and illuminate municipalities.
During an exam in Stadtschlining, the political priorities for the coming months were presented on Tuesday. Focused on packages of measures in the field of health, care, climate protection and community development – including an administrative reform. Especially in Focus: the municipal package and the planned integration of the Garbage Association in the Landolding.
This wants to make the budgetary situation of the municipalities harmless over the next three to four years, emphasizes Governor Hans Peter Doskozil (Spö). The evaluation of the BMV by external reports is still awaiting the final discussions that must be held about the purchase price. The decision is ultimately with the mayors, according to Doskozil. They must vote in a meeting, a simple majority is sufficient.
To get more financial scope, the country is planning savings in the administration. The staff budget will be concluded this year with 250 million euros. Among other things, the IT departments of the country and holding must be bundled in the new “Digital Burgenland GmbH”. The cultural department has also been reorganized and outsourced to KBB, the area of basic pedagogy moves to the Education Directorate.
Administration must become slimmer, no reduction in care and health
According to the ASFINAG model, the construction directorate will in the future be managed as an independent unit within the State holding, the governor announces.
Climate Protection Act: Legal framework for climate neutrality
There is also a clear commitment in terms of climate protection. “The Climate Protection Act is essentially finished and is currently being coordinated internally,” said Vice-Gouverneur Anja Haider-Wallner (Groenen). This is followed by discussions with interest groups and other parties. The aim is a clear legal framework on the way to climate neutrality 2040. With regard to possible penalty payments in the case of a missed climate goals, Haider-Wallner takes the federal government: “We do an above-average amount and this groundbreaking role must also pay financially.”
Criticism of Vienna: “Craftsmanship a madness”
With a view to federal politics, Governor Doskozil is also upset. In particular, he spoke to deal with -profit tax for energy companies. This was introduced because electricity companies had made the price explosion above average. “Now it is mainly influenced by those who invest strongly in green energy, such as Energie Burgenland,” says Doskozil. “This is craftsmanship and a blow to the energy transition. We will defend ourselves.”
