The government of US President Donald Trump wants to pay nearly five million US dollars (equal to 4.4 million euros) to the family of a dead captain. The woman was shot on January 6, 2021 by the police. Originally the Van Ashli Babbitt family even demanded a fee of $ 30 million.
The government and the family have now agreed a comparison, American media reported. The woman had stormed the congress with other radical Trump supporters when the victory of Democrat Joe Biden against the Republican had to be formally confirmed in the presidential election.
The 35-year-old Babbitt tried to climb through the slice of a door near the plenary hall in the house of delegates. She was shot by a police officer.
