Problem with being overweight – Erdogan has weighed countrymen nationally

Date:

The Turkish government is warned in the country because of the high number of overweight people. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has now led to national weight controls. The head of state wants to motivate its countrymen to lose weight.

According to the World Health Organization, Turkey is one of those countries that have the most overweight (around 61 percent) or obesity (around 32 percent). From a body mass index (ratio of body weight to body size, Anm. D. Red.) From 25 people speak about overweight. Obesity or obesity starts with the BMI value of 30.

In Turkey, all people who are older than 25 are sent to the health department in the measurements of the controllers sent by the country. There, the affectors must then be informed about the risks of their overweight and taps of weight loss.

Checks can pass anywhere
The campaign with the motto “Learn your weight, live healthy”, runs until July 10 and would penetrate all 81 provinces of Türkiye. According to the Turkish media, a maximum of ten million Turks must be checked during this period. According to reports, the checks can take place everywhere: in parks, on the street, at work or at home.

Incidentally, Minister of Health Kemal Memisoglu has already been measured. He also has to lose weight. He took note of this finding with humor and asked in a video published on his X page: “To which nutritionist should I go now?”

Minister of Health must also lose weight
Moments later, Memisoglu also placed his “training plan”: “I will just go on foot.” Countless Turks with the weight measurement classified by the state are not that fun. There is only one of the criticism that people are humiliated in public. Some are even afraid of personal disadvantages if they want to escape the campaign. There is also skepticism about how voluntary it should be.
