With his book about the controversial death of Christian Pilnacek, Peter Pilz drew various lawsuits. The Zackzag editor speaks of “lawsuits hits” from the ÖVP area. He calls for donations of 100,000 euros to save his independent medium.
“Yes, it’s serious.” With these words, the “Zackzack” editor Peter Pilz turns to the audience via the Social Medium X on Thursday. On Wednesday, the editors would have celebrated one of the greatest successes with the establishment of the Pilnacek Investigation Committee, but today they would already prepare to be prepared. The reason: “Zackzag” does not have enough money to get through the “Slapping -Rechtszaken of the ÖVP family”.
Critical investigation into Pilnacek-Tod
In the editorial team of the online medium “Zackzack” there is a crisis mood. Because the online medium around the former politician Peter Pilz has been a regular goal of media legislation and criminal proceedings since his critical investigation into the death of the former official in the Ministry of Justice, Christian Pilnacek. Pilz publicly wondered if Pilnacek committed suicide in October 2023. In his book “Pilnacek-Death of the Section Head”, he devotes himself in detail to the many contradictions in the police investigations after finding the body of the powerful and fairly influential deceased ex-poleur.
The statements in his book have led to various legal disputes. In the meantime, five police officers will go against Mushroom: Lower Austrian state police director Franz Popp, State Criminal Police Officer Stefan Pfandler, lead researcher Hannes Fellner and federal police director Michael Takacs. A police officer who was on site at the location of the Pilnacek corpse is now going against the journalist Mushroom. Media lawyer Peter Zöchbauer, who has already worked for the Novomatic or Benkos Signa gambling group, takes over the legal representation.
Peter Pilz informs about the financial emergency of his medium on X:
Pilz speaks of “Slapp” lawsuits
Mushroom is convinced that the lawsuits must be interpreted as an intimidating strategy. The goal is to destroy “Zackzag” and to scare further critical investigation. This procedure is called “Slapp”. “For the first time, police officers, public prosecutors and judges are working together to suffocate a medium,” said Pilz on X. Medium X would not receive government advertisements, nor “Raiffeisengeld” and would also not receive a state press financing. The editorial team does this “completely independent”, but at the same time “economically attackable”, the journalist emphasizes. According to the mushroom, the lawsuits would have already caused 100,000 euros. According to the Pilz, the Ministry of the Interior, also for the first time, tries to have an uncomfortable book forbidden.
For this reason, the “Zackzack” medium asks for donations. They would need 1,000 new members and 100,000 euros in donations to cope with the costs of the court and to be able to secure their survival. Pilz goes into the offensive and announces the next Pilnacek story for Friday. Until July 1 there is still time to collect the necessary donations.
“Black Networks”
The research into mushroom still has an in -depth effect. Because he not only sees contradictions with regard to the death of the ex-official Pilnacek. On Wednesday, National President Walter Rosenkranz (FPö) announced the application of the FPö for a parliamentary committee of inquiry for the Causa Pilnacek and “Black Networks” including Corona measures, the surveys must start in September.
The Greens displayed by Sigi Maurer-Spaaks of a thematic “confusion” towards FPö, but they see many open questions about the Pilnacek-Causa that had to be answered. “These research chaos must be illuminated. We will participate with a well -repaired team,” she emphasizes. Ultimately, the Constitutional Court is responsible for the decision (VFGH). This could claim that the topics related to Pilnacek and the Ministry of the Interior are related – but not with Corona.
