Renovation of the budget – The National Council decides on lush reimbursements

Date:

The budget renovation came one step closer to the implementation on Thursday. The National Council has decided a law of measures that, among other things, entails a strong increase in costs. The Greens and the FPö criticize that people with a lower income are disproportionately affected.

The package contains a number of measures for which the increase in KV contributions for seniors has caused a lot of criticism. In particular, they rise from 5.1 to 6 percent. In exchange, the prescription costs (currently 7.55 per package) will be frozen next year.

In addition, medication that is lower than the recipe costs must be included in the coverage service coverage and this will gradually be reduced from 2027 to 2030 to 1.5 percent of two percent of the annual net result.

The green MP Ralph Schallmeiner is addicted at the last point. Firstly, this relief arrives too late and secondly the affected person is financed by increasing the e-card compensation.

Here you can see an overview of the increases of the costs:

“Stress package for the masses”
Freedom members Alexander Petschnig spoke about a simple stress package for the masses. It is carefree tax and reimbursement increases, in which it was carefully ensured that the mass of the population comes to a hand kiss. In fact, the rises of the reimbursements are pretty considerable.

Greens and FPö: Low income less affected
The Greens and FPö referred to an investigation into the parliamentary budget service, according to which the lowest income is tenth three times as much as the top. Minister of Finance Markus Marterbauer (Spö) against the fact that the budget service could only assess the measures that were directly assigned to people.

This did not include offensive measures such as German financing, opportunities bonus or the expansion of the maintenance guarantee. But it is clear that the distribution effects are positive in these projects. The Spö also emphasized that tax increases were made for private foundations.

In general, Marterbauer was convinced that the necessary renovation would succeed. The Minister of Finance also assumes that economic researchers will not quickly revise their predictions, but upwards.

NEOS MP finds savings
MP Karin Doppelbauer assured that a very healthy welfare state would remain in the future. She pointed out that a pension gap of 40 billion existed in 2029 alone and that the debts had grown to 86 percent at the time. This makes the need to save. The steps that have now been taken are the start of a major reform agent, Doppelbauer said.

The allegations of the opposition were rejected by the ÖVP. Spokesperson of the Budget Andreas Pendant reminded that all parties are represented in decision -making functions in the various regional authorities. That is why all responsibility must be observed and also support the specific progress of the solution.
