9000 euros per month for a Syrian family in Vienna? The excitement after the “Kroon” report is great. The benefits of cash are far from everything.
A Syrian couple with their eleven children in Vienna receives more than 9000 euros per month every month as minimal security and family services. New figures and research show that in the federal capital the social security network is not only exceptionally tight – it is also a magnet.
Because a comparison of the social benefits that a family receives in Vienna, unlike other federal states, indicates a clear gap. Although Vorarlberg, for example, gives higher childcare costs, it is primarily the additional services that are important: free guidance, public tickets, energy, cultural passport subsidies and the exemption from ORF tax or the recipe costs (but both in all federal states). Support that you can only dream of as an employee.
Politics is required
Krone.at user “Fass” calculates: “That is 108,000 euros a year! Many family fathers don’t even earn that in three years, despite a full -time job.” Another remarks: “This corresponds to the gross income of 18,000 euros, you have to bring that together.” Reinhold sees politics asking: “The mistake is not due to those who take it, but with those who exist.”
Experts also criticize the system for a long time. “The fact that such a family comes to an income that many employees do not even reach is a fatal signal,” warned Franz Wolf, director of the Austrian Integration Fund, in an interview with the “Krone”. And added: “If there is no financial well -being for a Syrian family with children, this is a serious problem.”
A whole system
For FPö boss Dominik Nepp these are not an insulated cases-that has a system. He demands that social benefits are only paid to Austrian citizens. Criticism also comes from the ÖVP -Lager Austria and the designated Viennese club chairman Harald Zierfuß: “Vienna must finally adjust the minimum safety to the federal legal requirements,” he demands.
