The repair bonus can no longer be used. The funds submitted are exhausted, the Ministry of Climate said on Monday.
However, repairs that have already been issued keep their validity and can be exchanged at a partner company as part of the three -week period. The support program must be resumed this year.
130 million euros for repair bonus since 2022
The financing stop does not mean the end of the repair bonus, the climate minister Norbert Totschnig (ÖVP) emphasized. The program is now evaluated so that the money “can be used even more specifically and more efficiently in the future”. About 130 million euros from the EU building and the Resilience Fund have been available for the repair bonus since 2022. There were also funds from the federal government. Despite the tense budget situation, it is assumed that money will remain available for financing in the future, the ministry said on request.
Smartphone repair was very popular
Since the launch of the financing in 2022, around 1.7 million beans have been exchanged for repair, service or maintaining their electrical and electronic devices and bicycles. Smartphones, dishwasher, washing machines and coffee machines were often repaired by around 6,000 partner companies.
