Enrichment of uranium – Trump: Biden should prevent Iran long ago

Date:

US President Donald Trump held his predecessor Joe Biden responsible for the lack of an atomic agreement with Iran on Monday. Trump wrote that he would have to “stop” Iran for a long time “of uranium enrichment.

The uranium enrichment is still a central point of dispute in the conversations. Although Iran’s leadership repeatedly said it was not negotiable, the American side described this as a “red line”. A report from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) had become public on Saturday, according to which Iran has increased its existence of 60 percent enriched uranium in the past three months.

A degree of enrichment of around 90 percent is required for the construction of nuclear weapons. Western states have been accusing the country for years to build nuclear weapons. The IAEA recently showed “worried” and also criticized the collaboration with Iranian leadership in the assessment of the nuclear program as “not satisfactory”.

Five negotiation rounds without results
In mid -April the White House and the Iranian government had undergone the discussions about a possible nuclear agreement. The first five negotiation rounds remained without results. According to a report from the AXIOS News Portal, limited uranium enrichment could be allowed- at a low level and for a limited time. Trump, however, denied. The American president wrote “no uranium enrichment” on his social social platform.

He recently said he was close to a solution. He wanted to negotiate an agreement that enables the American authorities to perform inspections and destroy things. In 2018, the US President himself declared the exit of the United States from Tehran’s nuclear agreement with the world powers and imposed sanctions against Iran.
